Summertime Blog Bits: Cornerback Jayron Hosley

In today’s blog bits, we hear from rookie cornerback Jayron Hosley, who despite his smallish height, plays with an aggressive fearlessness that should be fun to watch this summer.

Q. What do young want to show the coaches this summer?
A. That I’m a play maker. I just want to go out there, play ball, and let the coaches fix the technical stuff as we go along. I can control the effort and once I get out there, it’s full go.

Q. How do you think you fit in with this defense?
A. They want playmakers and I feel like I can be that. They felt that way because they drafted me, so I think I’ll fit right in.

Q. What have the coaches said they like about you so far?
A. My instincts, my ability to play the ball downfield, and my aggressiveness.

Q. You’ve been mentioned as a possible competitor for the punt returner job. Can you talk about what you have to master to be successful in that role?
A. It’s a different speed. You have to adapt to the speed. I don’t think it will be too much for me to get used to though.

Q. You have your college teammate, David Wilson, here. What’s that been like for you?
A. Yeah,  he’s someone I am familiar with from college and him being here is something that has definitely helped me with the transition process because it’s nice to have someone around that you can relate to.
