Injuries Cloud Giants Win Over the Jets

The New York Giants might have gotten the best of the Jets in their annual summer matchup, but the win didn’t come easy for the Giants, who will go into the new week with a bunch of injury concerns.

Starting running back Ahmad Bradshaw, who was spotted on the sideline wearing what looked like a cast on his right wrist, said that his injury was simply a burst cyst that he had for a while at the top of his wrist, and that his cast was nothing more than a compression sleeve to help keep the swelling down.

“It’s nothing serious,” he said. “During one of the runs, I hit it on someone’s helmet, and it just popped and there was a little pain in it. It feels good; we’re just being a little cautious about it. We did an X-ray – no bones broken, so I’ll be all right”

Also suffering an injury was middle linebacker Mark Herzlich, who had to come out of the game with a hip pointer when he was hit by someone’s helmet on his second play in the game. Herzlich said after the game that he didn’t think it was anything serious that would keep him out of action for too long.

“I think it’s just something you ice and let the swelling go down,” he said.

Defensive end Adrian Tracy had to come out of the game with a hamstring strain, but he said afterward that he left the game as a precautionary after his attempt to loosen the hamstring didn’t go the way he had hoped. “I thought it would warm up as I continued to play and continued to get loose but it didn’t work out, so I pulled out for precautionary reasons. So we’ll just tend to it and make sure I’m fine.”

Also appearing to be injured was defensive end Justin Tuck, who was sporting a wrap on his shoulder. The extent of his injury wasn’t known.
