Hakeem Nicks is Active for the Giants

Giants receiver Hakeem Nicks, who developed some issues with is ailing knee on Thursday, and was listed as questionable for the Giants, is active for today’s game against the Saints, and will start, according to the team.

Not active for the Giants, though, is safety Kenny Phillips, who has dealt with an ongoing knee injury. Phillips, who was listed as doubtful, played in about 20 snaps on Monday night against the Redskins, but re-aggravated his injury. Given the short work week and the fact that the Saints run a more traditional offense plus the return of linebacker Jacquian Williams from his own knee injury, Phillips will sit this one out.

The remaining inactives for the Giants include safety Tyler Sash (hamstring) and tight end Travis Beckum (knee), both of whom were declared out by the team on Friday. They’re joined by running back Ryan Torain, defensive end Adewale Ojomo, tight end Adrien Robinson, and defensive tackle Marvin Austin, all of whom are healthy scratches.

The Saints scratched running back Chris Ivory, who on Saturday was added to their injury report with a hamstring. He’s joined by cornerback Corey White, linebacker Scott Shanle,  tackle Charles Brown, defensive tackle Tyrunn Walker, tight end Michael Higgins, and defensive end Turk McBride.
