Giant Suprise: DE Owa Odighizuwa to “Step Away” from the Game

Defensive end set to step away after only two seasons.

According to a series of tweets from defensive end Owa Odighizuwa, the Giants’ third-round pick in 2015 is planning to step away from the game.

Odighizuwa missed three games as a rookie with a foot injury, returning to appear in four games primarily on special teams before a hamstring injury landed him on the team’s injured reserve list in early November.

Although he was given the “designated to return” tag, Odighizuwa, who capped his rookie campaign with three tackles (two solo) never made it back for his rookie season.

Last season, Odighizuwa missed two games in early December due to a knee sprain. He finished the season having appeared in 14 games with three tackles (two solo) and a pass defensed.
