Giants defensive end issues follow-up tweet after Monday’s surprising messages.
A day after firing off a series of tweets suggesting that he was taking time to step away from football, New York Giants defensive end Owa Odighizuwa took to Twitter again, this time with a tweet that appears to have cast some clarity on his immediate future.
Hey everyone I truly appreciate y’all thoughts and concerns.. I’m doing great and grateful to be a part of BIG BLUE 🙌🏿

The Giants organization has always treated current and former players as part of the franchise’s growing family. The team has been also known to assist players and their families with outside services.
Although it’s not exactly clear what initially led to the 25-year-old Odighizuwa’s tweets on Monday in which he said it was “in my best interest to take sometime (sic) to get away from the game,” what is clear is that the Giants offseason program, which begins April 18, is voluntary as are the ensuing OTAs.
While a player’s attendance at all the workouts would benefit not just the players but the team as well, if Odighizuwa’s off-field situation requires his undivided attention, it is his right to tend to his personal matters without fear of repercussion or judgement.
The Giants have not commented on Odighizuwa’s tweets from the last two days.
