Giants Game Day | Vernon, Casillas Return – Inactives and Lineup Changes

New York Giants defensive end Olivier Vernon, who missed the last four games with an ankle injury, is active for the New York Giants.

Also returning to the lineup after being inactive due to injury are linebacker Jonathan Casillas (neck) and running back Paul Perkins (ribs).

Vernon and Casillas are expected to start this week while Perkins will be a rotational back what with Orleans Darkwa still holding the starting running back job.

The rest of the Giants inactives include three linebackers—Devon Kennard (quad), B.J. Goodson (ankle) and Keenan Robinson. Curtis Grant will start in place of Kennard at the strong side spot; newly signed Kelvin Sheppard will start for Goodson. Casillas will return to the nickel package.

Rookie quarterback Davis Webb will have to wait another week for any kind of meaningful snaps, as he is once again inactive.  Also inactive for the Giants is cornerback Donte Deayon (ankle), who was listed on the injury report as doubtful for this weekend; offensive tackle Chad Wheeler and receiver Travis Rudolph.

On the offensive line, Justin Pugh returns at right tackle after missing last weekend’s game due to a back ailment. John Jerry will start at left guard and D.J. Fluker will get the start at right guard.

The 49ers inactives are DT Solomon Thomas (knee), TE George Kittle (ankle), LB Elijah Lee (knee), DE Aaron Lynch (calf), WR Trent Taylor (ribs), OT Darrell Williams, and LB Pita Taumoepenu.
