New York Giants head coach Ben McAdoo said that running back Shaun Draughn (ankle) and CB Valentino Blake (back) will begin training camp on the active/PUP list. Both were participants during the spring.
Update: A Giants team spokesperson said that Blake will NOT start on PUP and will be available to practice Friday.
McAdoo also hinted that the team’s PUP list might grow pending the outcome of the conditioning test. He mentioned there were a couple of players they were looking at to see where they were, but he didn’t say who.
McAdoo confirmed that DE Owa Odighizuwa, who missed the OTAs and who was excused for the team’s mandatory minicamp last month, reported for training camp.
Update: General manager Jerry Reese revealed that linebacker J.T. Thomas was one of the unknown players McAdoo referenced. Thomas, who is coming off a season-ending knee injury, was set to take a physical to provide the team with additional information regarding whether to place him on the PUP list or if he’s ready to practice.
