Giants Sign Fourth-round Pick Wayne Gallman

Wayne Gallman’s signing leaves Evan Engram as the lone unsigned draft pick.

The New York Giants have signed running back Wayne Gallman, their fourth-round draft pick (140th overall) in the 2017 draft.

Per Over the Cap, Gallman’s four-year deal is worth $2.819 million with a $419,644 signing bonus.

Gallman’s annual cap figures break down as follows:

2017 $569,912
2018 $659,912
2019 $749,912
2020 $839,912

Gallman’s 2017 cap figure ranks as the 53rd highest number on the 2017 roster, which on the surface makes him ineligible for the top-51 rule in effect until the start of the season.

Per NFL salary cap rules, all signing bonuses given to rookies count under the salary cap on a prorated basis, meaning that of Gallman’s $569,912 cap number for 2017, $104,912 of that counts toward the Top-51 number.

The Giants now have all but tight end Evan Engram, their first round pick, under contract. Engram’s rookie deal will be for four years, $10.718 million with a fifth-year option and a $5.935 million signing bonus. His annual cap figures will, per OTC, break down as follows:

2017 $1,948,826
2018 $2,436,033
2019 $2,923,230
2020 $3,410,447
