New York Giants cornerback Janoris Jenkins spoke to the media for the first time since returning from his one-week suspension, and said that the past is in the past.
“I just didn’t show up,” he said when asked what happened to warrant his one-game suspension. “Me and coach (Ben McAdoo) talked about it and we’re moving forward.”
Jenkins, who was unwilling to provide much more in the way of details when asked about why he didn’t call the organization when he wasn’t going to be able to make it back, said he accepted his punishment and was “on to football. “
“I mean whatever he gave me, he gave me. I took it and accepted it and I’m back at work and I’m happy to be here,” he said.
Jenkins, who said he watched his teammates get blown out by the Rams Sunday, was asked if he had any regrets.
“Hey man, it happened already,” he said, side-stepping the question. “Moving forward from that. I ain’t going to say I got regrets, I ain’t going to say I don’t have regrets. Whatever, we talked about it and discussed, that is over. It happened. We got it out of the way. New week.”
