New York Giants Begin Roster Cuts

The New York Giants have announced eight roster moves, bringing their  roster total from 89 to 80.

Last week the Giants waived defensive end Owa Odighizuwa. They didn’t replace him on the roster ahead of Thursday’s game at new England, so they were left with 89 players.

Safety Duke Ihenacho was placed on season-ending injured reserve with a knee injury.  The others who were waived include:

  • Safety Eric Pinkins, who was on the Giants’ roster last year
  • Linebacker Chris Casher
  • Linebacker Steven Daniels
  • Cornerback Tay Glover-Wright
  • Cornerback Tim Scott
  • Cornerback Daniel Gray
  • Receiver C.J. Germany
  • Offensive Lineman Richard Levy

The last seven players listed joined the Giants after the start of the preseason.

The Giants have until 4PM ET Saturday to get down to the league mandated 53-man roster.
