Odell Beckham Jr. Suffers Ankle Injury

New York Giants wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr. suffered a sprained ankle, in the second quarter of the team’s preseason game at Cleveland.

The injury came when Beckham was hit by Browns defensive back Briean Boddy-Calhoun. Boddy-Calhun appeared to run into the side of Beckham’s left knee, but the receiver was somehow able to free his cleat from the ground, possibly avoiding a worse injury.

Beckham jogged off the field but was seen after by the ESPN television camera curled in a ball of discomfort before being escorted into the locker room by a member of the team’s training staff.

ESPN sideline reporter Lisa Salters reported that Beckham was being evaluated for a concussion as well as the ankle injury. Beckham was quickly cleared of having a concussion, but was also sent for X-rays on his ankle.

Beckham, who didn’t play last week, finished catching all three of his pass targets for 37 yard before exiting.
